Dobrá Voda: Hotels and accommodations

Dobrá Voda is located in the Želivka–Švihov water protection zone. The 34.5-kilometer-long cycling route “Okolo lomu k evropskému rozvodí” runs through the village.

Paths and transport

The green-marked bridleway “Jezdecká stezka Litohošť – Sosnový les” is 92 kilometers long and runs across fields and grassy paths. Dobrá Voda also has a sand court for nohejbal or tennis.

Dobrá Voda u Pelhřimova railway station is integrated into the Vysočina Region’s integrated transport system. It is located on railway line 224 between Tábor and Horní Cerekev, with onward connections towards Jihlava.

History and notable people

The first written mention of Dobrá Voda dates back to 1414. From 1572 onward, Dobrá Voda was part of the Pelhřimov estate.

Several well-known names are associated with the village and its Rohovka district: MUDr. Jaroslav Kos, DrSc., was born in Dobrá Voda in 1917 and became a professor of anatomy. The geologist and paleontologist Jan Kušta came from the Rohovka district. Jan Vladimír Průša (1906–1930) came from Dobrá Voda and is considered a literary talent who died prematurely.
