Lidmaň: Hotels and Accommodation

Lidmaň can be explored through three levels: the landscape, the routes through the administrative area, and the evidence of its history.

Landscape

Extensive strips of woodland stretch along the southern and northern sides of Lidmaň. The Lidmaň area lies within the Želivka drainage basin and is drained by the Cerekvický potok. In another direction flows the Černovický potok, which rises in the cadastral area of Lidmaň and is a tributary of the Lužnice.

The bodies of water in Lidmaň and its surroundings are also part of this landscape: there are a large number of larger and smaller ponds.

Routes

The signposted cycle route No. 321 runs through the administrative area of Lidmaň in a north–south direction. It leads from Pacov southwards to Kámen Castle and continues via Dobrá Voda and Lidmaň to Kamenice nad Lipou.

A green-marked, signposted hiking trail runs approximately from west to east along the northern boundary of the administrative area of Lidmaň, leading from Černovice via Moraveč towards Nová Cerekev.

Culture and History

The Baldachýnová kaplička sv. Jana Nepomuckého in Lidmaň was built in 1874 and completely reconstructed in 1997. The brick chapel is open on three sides through arcades supported by Tuscan columns and houses a cast-iron statue of the saint dating from 1874.

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Lidmaň has been mentioned as a parish church since 1384. The present building dates from 1738 and was erected on the site of an earlier church. Above its entrance are two coats of arms: the coat of arms of Count Kinský below and that of the Schönburgs above.

In the immediate vicinity of Lidmaň is Křížův mlýn s pilou in Lidmaňka, house number 28, in the Pelhřimov District. The complex was declared a cultural monument in the third quarter of 2017. It is an example of a small rural water mill with a sawmill on a watercourse with low flow. Its craft and industrial technical equipment has a high degree of authenticity.

Visible remains of historical gold mining can still be found in Lidmaň. In the immediate vicinity of Lidmaň, above Hojava in the direction of Eustach, only the remains of the ramparts of the vanished settlement of Višněvice can still be discerned.

Orientation

Lidmaň can be reached via road III/12818 between Pelhřimov and Černovice, as well as via the connecting road III/12819 from Kamenice nad Lipou. The nearest railway stop is in Černovice on the Obrataň–Jindřichův Hradec narrow-gauge railway line.
