The Kejtovské louky nature monument lies about 0.5 km west of Eš and in its immediate vicinity. It protects a naturally meandering watercourse as well as species-rich wet and peat meadows with specially protected plant and animal species. Eš is also located 5 km south of Pacov.
Nature
KovárnÃk is one of two ponds owned directly by the municipality of EÅ¡ within the village. Both ponds in EÅ¡ are regularly stocked and fished out. An unnamed stream from Skalický rybnÃk runs through EÅ¡ and continues through four smaller ponds.
History and architectural heritage
The first written mention of Eš dates from 1415. Several buildings in Eš preserve historic façades dating from around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. Farmhouse No. 20 in Eš is a reconstructed wooden house restored in accordance with its original form and building techniques.
The pseudo-Gothic Chapel of Saint Mary Magdalene in EÅ¡ dates from 1866 and was consecrated on 22 July 1866.
The Božà muka wayside shrine stands on road II/128 in Eš and bears an inscription commemorating the missing Václav Mareš from Eš. The protected zone of Kámen Castle includes land in the cadastral areas of Kámen, Eš, D. Voda and Věžná.
Routes
Road II/128 runs through EÅ¡. Between Lukavec and Pacov, it is signposted as a cycle route and passes through EÅ¡.
