Nature

The Ivaniny rybníčky natural monument is located in the Pelhřimov District, on the territory of the market town of Nový Rychnov in the cadastral area of Sázava pod Křemešníkem, and in the municipality of Proseč pod Křemešníkem in the cadastral area of Proseč pod Křemešníkem. Pond biotopes with specially protected species are protected here. A protected oak tree more than 150 years old also stands at the inflow of the former mill in the direction of Rohozná. There are good opportunities for hiking and cycling around Nový Rychnov.

Culture and history

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built between 1343 and 1363 in the Gothic style; the presbytery of the original building has been preserved. The remaining traces of the V Šancích field fortification, with its ditches and ramparts, are also among the town's historical features.

The museum is located in the lower part of the former savings bank building, house number 160, which was previously a drugstore. Nový Rychnov Castle was rebuilt by the Leskovec family in the Renaissance style as a rural aristocratic residence.

Events and trails

Novorychnovské stezky is a traditional event in Nový Rychnov. At Novorychnovské stezky 2026, the start and finish are at the municipal restaurant by the town hall in Nový Rychnov.

Z Nadhledu is an annual event in Nový Rychnov that took place on January 3, 2026. During the event, a marked route leads to a stop by a fire. The Maříž–Golčův Jeníkov riding trail is 226 kilometers long.
