Vokov: Hotels and Accommodation

Vokov is considered an elongated valley village established during the colonization period in the 13th and 14th centuries. Its history is closely linked to the old Želivská stezka trade route: Vokov and its entire surrounding area lie along this route, which has connected the Bohemian Basin with the Austrian Danube region since the early Middle Ages.

History and Villagescape

A chapel stands in Vokov's village square. It is a small sacred folk structure with a square floor plan, a shingle-covered hipped roof, and a bell turret. It is dated to 1800, is registered under number 29106/3-3157, and has been protected as a historic monument since 1958.

Oldřich Tluksa of Vokov is mentioned for the years 1376 to 1386. A manor may have been located there, but it has not been identified to this day.

Nature and Trails

The Křemešník Circle trail leads up to the hilltop, offering views over forests, hills, and villages. The 31.1-kilometre Pelhřimovský prstýnek circular trail also passes through the region: it leads via Pelhřimov, Starý Pelhřimov, Myslotín, Vokov, Nemojov, Putimov, and Radňov back to Pelhřimov and is suitable for hiking and cycling.

The 92-kilometre Litohošť–Sosnový les horse-riding trail also passes through Vokov. The Okolo lomu k evropskému rozvodí cycling route is considered easy and is suitable for mountain bikes; it leads to the European watershed in Nová Buková.

Geography and Transport

The Bělá crosses the eastern part of the Vokov municipal area from south to north. This section, including an active zone, has been designated as a floodplain area; the Bělá then flows into the Želivka.

For the period from 2022 to 2026, regional bus route 281 is listed with the route Střítež – Božejov – Libkova Voda – Vokov – Pelhřimov. The bus information refers to 15 June 2021.
