Water and Landscape
The Dalešická Reservoir consists of two water basins and extends over 22 km. At the same time, it serves as a refuge for herons, storks, swans, eagles and wild ducks. Babí hora, a mountain, is located in the vicinity of Popůvky. Horka, Skalný and Křemel, all mountains, are also located in the surrounding area.
Activities at the Reservoir
Cycle Route No. 5108 passes through Popůvky and forms part of the longer circular route around the Dalešická Reservoir. At the reservoir, there is the gravelly-sandy bay of Popůvky and the sandy Pechova Beach.
History and Culture
By 1371, the village had been re-established and settled; it also received the name Popůvky. The ruins of Rabštejn, the ruins of Tempelštejn and the Chapel of St Peter and St Paul are located in the vicinity of Popůvky. In the wider regional area is Veveří Castle, a castle. Invitations to pilgrimages for 2025 and 2026 are available for Popůvky.
