Bořenovice: Chapels, Bell Tower and Hotels
Bořenovice is a Czech village with sacred buildings, historical memorials and cycling connections. This combination is particularly evident in the chapel of the Šinkyřík family and the Bořenovice bell tower, complemented by wayside shrines, monuments and traces of former windmills.
Culture
The chapel of the Šinkyřík family stands on the road to Pacetluky. The Baroque chapel was built in 1885 and is dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. On 27 November 1963, it was entered in the state register of immovable cultural monuments. From this Marian chapel, the inhabitants of Bořenovice once made pilgrimages on foot to the pilgrimage site of Svatý Hostýn, praying along the way.
The religious heritage also includes the statue of Panna Maria Svatohostýnská, created in 1946 to commemorate the end of the Second World War and in gratitude that Bořenovice suffered no loss of life in the war. A stone statue of Panna Maria Svatohostýnská also stands on the right at the exit towards Pacetluky.
The Kaplička pod lípou – Boží muka is a small wayside shrine probably built in the mid-18th century. It stands beneath a broad-crowned linden tree on the road between Holešov and Bořenovice, closer to Bořenovice. A chapel was built on the same road, closer to Holešov, around 1874.
The cross monument to the soldiers who fell in the First World War stands at the entrance to the village when arriving from Holešov. It commemorates seven fallen soldiers from Bořenovice in the First World War and was erected on 1 September 1922.
History
The Bořenovice bell tower was declared a cultural monument in 2010. It was probably built during the reign of Maria Theresa and historically served both as a warning signal and as a call to prayer. At the same time, it is one of the oldest surviving municipal bell towers in the Zlín Region.
The history of windmills involves two separate references. The former Bořenovice windmill was built in Bořenovice in 1795 and stood east of the village until 1976. The Rymice Open-Air Museum contains a wooden German-type windmill relocated there from nearby Bořenovice.
Cycling Connections
A paved farm track leads from Pacetluky through Bořenovice to Holešov, where cyclists can join regional cycle route 5033. In addition, a microregional cycling circuit passes through Holešov, Bořenovice, Pacetluky, Karlovice, Kostelec u Hol., Roštění and Rymice.
The Bořenovský košt was scheduled for Friday, 20 March 2026.
Also important are the included services, individual price components, and the booking and cancellation conditions. Several offers can be compared based on these points before you book. This keeps the specific conditions visible without general expectations of a hotel being mistaken for a characteristic of the location. Especially with different travel plans, this comparison provides a clear basis for your own decision without presupposing any features or availability.
