Rusava lies in the Hostýnské vrchy Nature Park. Landscape, water, winter sports and local history offer different ways to experience this place. The specific sites and facilities range from a nature trail, a Koupaliště swimming pool and a ski area to a church, a museum and a preserved villa.

Nature

The Rusavské chodníčky nature trail, established in 2007 with the support of the Zlín Region, comprises around seven stations. It provides information about the landscape and nature around Rusava and the Hostýnské vrchy, the original inhabitants of Rusava, and the local animal and plant life. The nature trail runs above Rusava along the edge of pastures and meadows near Skalný and Klapinov.

The starting point at the Rusava, Kino tourist signpost can be reached by car and by regular bus services from Kroměříž, Holešov and Bystřice pod Hostýnem.

Water

Koupaliště Rusava has a 43-metre-long main pool with a slide and water fountains. The water in the pool is heated using solar collectors. Access to Koupaliště Rusava and its individual facilities is barrier-free.

Winter sports

The Rusava ski resort is located directly in Rusava and has two drag lifts serving slopes for beginners and active winter sports enthusiasts. The ski area offers ski and snowboard equipment rental as well as the Eskimák ski school, which provides ski and snowboard lessons. The Rusava ski area also offers evening skiing under floodlights.

Culture

The stone Evangelical Church of the Holy Trinity is located in the centre of Rusava. The Muzeum Rusava is housed in the municipal office building and shows what Rusava looked like in past centuries. The exhibits include embroidered Wallachian costumes, old tools, school equipment and wooden grain barrels hollowed out of tree trunks. The Muzeum Rusava can be visited by prior telephone or email arrangement.

Kašparova vila is a preserved example of folk architecture in Rusava. The renowned painter and illustrator Adolf Kašpar had it built for himself and his family in 1932. Parts of the ground plans, the old jambs of the narrow gate and the remains of the castle tower have survived from Křídlo Castle.
