Roštín – Hotel and Hiking in the Chřiby Mountains

Roštín offers specific destinations for different kinds of days: a blue-marked route through fields and forest, a forest chapel with a spring, Koupaliště Roštín and the trail to Brdo. The trails range from short routes with stops for children to a hike 7 km long with an elevation gain of 278 m.

Nature and Trails

The blue-marked Roštínským polesím route begins in the center of Roštín and is 5 km long. Southeast of Roštín, it runs along paved and unpaved field and forest paths. The Naučná stezka K lípě u Roštína supplements this trail network with playful and educational elements for children. It has a rest area by one signpost; at the end of the route, there is a bench and an information board.

The Roštínským polesím route is suitable for families with children and includes a stop at Roštínská kaple, with a spring of fresh, clean water rising directly below it. Roštínská kaple itself is a forest chapel with a statue of Our Lady of Loreto. It has stood in the forest behind Roštín since 1907.

From Roštínská kaple, visitors can extend their walk along the forest path on the yellow-marked route to Bunč or on the green-marked route to Brdo. The hiking route from Roštín to Brdo is 7 km long as a round trip and has an elevation gain of 278 m. The 23.9 m-high Brdo lookout tower stands on the mountain’s namesake summit, the highest peak in the Chřiby Mountains at 587 m.

Water

Koupaliště Roštín includes a 25 m-long swimming pool with three massage jets and a water attraction. The complex also has a 4 m-long children’s pool with a fish-shaped water attraction. A beach sports court is also part of the Koupaliště Roštín complex.

Culture

Regular church services are held at the Church of St. Anne in Roštín. Another distinctive structure stands between Roštín and Cetechovice at a now-abandoned site on a small hill. The structure has had its present form since 1742, when it was almost completely rebuilt.

The starting point for the hike to Brdo is in the Salárna district near Koupaliště Roštín, where parking is available. Roštín can be reached by car or bus.
