Střížovice combines its location on the right bank of the March with the transition between the Upper Morava Valley and the Chřiby Hills. The village offers views of the nearby Chřiby Hills.

Nature and landscape

Bašnov is a protected nature monument in the cadastral area of Střížovice u Kvasic. It lies approximately 0.3 km south-southeast of Střížovice in a shallow depression in the March floodplain. The nature monument protects the fire-bellied toad (Bombina bombina), a species of European importance, and its habitat.

The Střížovice Site of Community Importance is located approximately 0.7 km southeast of Střížovice, on the left side of the road from Střížovice to Kvasice. It is part of the Natura 2000 network.

Culture

The monument to the citizens of Střížovice who fell in the First World War was erected in 1921 in front of the municipal office. The village square in Střížovice is also home to a statue of Saint Florian. It is probably considered a Baroque monument and is 276 cm high overall. As a protected object, it is listed in the Central Register of Cultural Monuments under number 34454/7–6157.

Kříž na Hrázi is a sandstone cross with a crucifix and corpus on a pedestal. The body of the martyred Christ and the inscription INRI can be seen on the cross. During processions through the village, the Hrkači stopped here to pray.

Hiking and cycling

The Stezky severními Chřiby trail network features information boards with maps, historical information and local sights. There are also tourist signposts, viewpoints and benches. The trail network is intended primarily for hiking; most routes can also be used by mountain bike and are additionally suitable for running or Nordic walking.

A 12 km hiking trail begins in Střížovice. For cyclists, the cycle path section between Kroměříž, Střížovice and Kvasice forms part of the EuroVelo 9 system.
