Hotel in Troubky-Zdislavice – Castle History and Viewpoints

Troubky-Zdislavice combines castle history with paths through fields, viewpoints and religious buildings. Zdislavice Castle is particularly important for gaining a first impression: it was built at the end of the 17th century on the site of a stone fortress and remodelled by Count Dubský in the 1840s. Marie Ebner-Eschenbach was born at this castle on 13 September 1830. Her remains were transferred to Zdislavice and buried in the Dubský family crypt.

Culture

The bell tower in Troubky-Zdislavice also reflects the historical character of the village. The Baroque, two-storey bell tower is a masonry building with a square ground plan and a dome; it was built around 1800. It has been protected as a cultural monument since 1958. The Chapel of the Virgin Mary is also located in Zdislavice. It dates from the first half of the 18th century and stands in a prominent location at a crossroads south of the village.

Landscape

Zdislavice lies on the edge of the Litenčická pahorkatina hills. One specific viewpoint is Kamenný stůl, where there are two benches and a stone table. From there, the Chřiby hills with the Brdo lookout tower and the Zdenička lookout tower can be seen. The Kamenný stůl viewpoint is approximately 1 km from Zdislavice Castle; the path leads gently uphill through fields.

Trails

The Kaštanová walk leads from the castle in Zdislavice along a road and a green tourist trail marker towards Honětice and the Chapel of the Virgin Mary. The route thus connects the starting point at the castle with the path to the chapel and follows a clearly identified trail marker. A short detour of approximately 100 m leads to a spring with benches and the Chapel of St Florian. The named waypoints therefore lie in a comprehensible sequence: from the castle, the walk initially follows the road and then continues along the green marker. The spring and the Chapel of St Florian are described as a separate short detour, while the Chapel of the Virgin Mary lies farther along the route towards Honětice.
