Nature and Landscape

The Javorníky Ridge begins east of Leskovec and lies within the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area. Approximately one third of Leskovec’s cadastral area is covered by forests.

Trails and Transport

The Hornolidečská Tourist Magistrála descends from Nezdoby Hill to Leskovec and passes the monument to the burned-down Juřičkův mlýn in Leskovec. Another section of the Hornolidečská Tourist Magistrála runs through the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area.

A road and a double-track railway line connecting Moravia with Slovakia run through Leskovec. The passenger railway line runs via Vsetín, Leskovec, Valašská Polanka, Lužná, Lidečko and Horní Lideč. Leskovec’s road connections include routes I/57 and I/49.

History and Culture

Juřičkův mlýn served as a partisan center and as a link between the Javorníky, Vizovicko and Hošťálkovsko areas. Every year, Leskovec hosts the “O pohár Juříčkova mlýna” firefighting competition in memory of the Leskovec tragedy, in which Juříčkův mlýn was burned down. Sports and Events

The FC Leskovec football grounds on the southern outskirts of Leskovec have facilities for players and spectators. The FC Leskovec football grounds include an area for cultural events with a dance floor. A multipurpose sports court with a synthetic surface on the grounds of the primary school in Leskovec can be used by arrangement with the school.
