Hotel in Haluzice: Hiking Trails, Forest and Bell Tower

Haluzice is part of the 26-kilometre marked Luhačovice–Haluzice–Vlachovice–Valašské Klobouky hiking route, which runs through the Luhačovské Zálesí microregion. The village is therefore connected to a signposted route linking several places in the region.

Nature

More than half of Haluzice’s cadastral area is forested. The village lies in the foothills of the Vizovické vrchy and on the northern edge of the Bílé Karpaty Protected Landscape Area. A small pond has also been created on the northern edge of Haluzice. The landscape is thus characterised by forest areas, its location in front of the Vizovické vrchy, the edge of the Bílé Karpaty and this man-made body of water.

Trails

A marked section of the Beskydsko-karpatská magistrála long-distance cycle route runs along the western edge of Haluzice. A green-marked hiking trail also begins on the western edge. For cyclists, Haluzice is also connected to the “Na kole přes Slavičín a Loučku” cycling tour: after passing through Lipová, it leads to a junction near Haluzice. The same cycling tour recommends a detour to Haluzice because of the magnificent views of the surrounding area. Haluzice has a bus stop.

Culture

The village is home to a hexagonal timber-framed bell tower. The wooden bell tower is a small monument of folk architecture and has served local residents for 150 years. This polygonal bell-tower type is dated to the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. There is also a cross dating from 1900 on the village square in Haluzice.

The historic village structure has also been preserved: former farmhouses in Haluzice are arranged in a horseshoe shape, as was once customary around historic village squares. Haluzice belonged to the Vizovice estate. The main themes planned for the Vlachovsko Museum are the folk culture, traditions and customs of southern Valašsko. Particular emphasis is planned on Vlachovice, Vrbětice, Křekov, Vlachova Lhota and Haluzice.
