Culture and Wine

Anapea Village is located on the Apeni River in the fertile Alazani catchment area. It functions as a museum reflecting ways of life from the 18th and 19th centuries. The grounds feature 39 grape varieties treated with traditional sulfur and copper preparations. Six old and rare Kakhetian grape varieties have also been planted there: Mtsvivani, Khikhvi, Kisi, Kakhuri Mtsvane, Saperavi and Vardisperi Rkatsiteli. The village combines traditional elements with a distillery and a wine cellar. Guests can stay in houses representing farmers, nobility or landowners. Visitors can sample traditional natural wines pressed in qvevris and experience freshly baked bread from the oven; the property also includes an outdoor pool.

Regional Cuisine

Wine Yard N1 in the Kindzmarauli microzone of Akhalsopeli showcases a third-generation wine cellar, a traditional house, family feasting and toastmaster traditions, folklore and agro-experiences. The offering includes Kakhetian wine and food experiences, including qvevri tastings, chacha distillation, churchkhela making, bread baking, culinary master classes, agro-tours and cultural events.

Winemaking

The Tkhilistskaro complex of Château Bruale comprises a winery and a small hotel. Both traditional qvevri and classic winemaking methods are used there; the wines are made from grapes harvested in the estate's own vineyards. An on-site visitor program includes a traditional lunch with a tasting of family wine, as well as a cheese-making master class.
