A bell tower in the northwestern part of the churchyard dates from the late Middle Ages. The interior paintings combine a strongly classical style with local traditions of early Svanetian art.
The Omar Margiani complex is classified as a state civil-defensive site from the Middle Ages. Chvabiani itself is classified as an urban-planning site from the Middle Ages. The Church of St. George in Chvabiani is classified as a local cultural site from the late Middle Ages.
