Bakurianis Andeziti: Hotels and Accommodation

Bak’urianis Andezit’i lies on the northern slope of the Trialeti Range, in the headwaters of the Borjomula River. Healing mineral springs are reported in the surrounding area. The elevation is approximately 1,800 meters.

Culture and History

Bak’urianis Andezit’i emerged after 1932 around an industrial enterprise and was developed as a workers’ settlement with apartment blocks, a kindergarten, school, club, canteen, shops, clinic, and library. The school and library have been preserved. The library contains 17,000 books and is used by children and adults.

A former stone-processing factory and a building in Bak’urianis Andezit’i intended for a porcelain factory were looted. According to reports, the industrial enterprise is said to have closed around three decades ago.

Routes and Tours

A regular bus service connects Bakuriani bus station with Andeziti and Tsikhisjvari in both directions. From Bakuriani, Tabatskuri can be reached via the Tskhratskaro Pass, approximately 30 kilometers each way. The road to Tabatskuri is closed in winter; access from Bakuriani is then by snowmobile.
