Zanavi is located on the southern slope of the Meskheti Mountains on the left bank of the Kvabliani River. The village is home to Zanavi Fortress, which dates back to the High Middle Ages and includes a three-story tower and a reservoir for water storage.
Culture
The fortress is located in Patara Zanavi, in the municipality of Adigeni, about 5 km from Adigeni. Patara Zanavi is also home to Chulevi Monastery, with a domed church dedicated to Saint George dating from the 14th century. A waterfall accessible to visitors is located a few meters from Chulevi Monastery.
Zanavi is connected with the historic Kvabliani community in Samtskhe. The area of Zanavi is mentioned in the hagiographic work The Life of Serapion of Zarzma. About 2 km north of Zanavi, in the source area of the Zanavi Gorge, the remains of a large hall church lie in a meadow within a mixed forest. The remains were enclosed by a wall.

The municipality of Adigeni is part of the Borjomi-Kharagauli protected areas. Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park offers one-day and multi-day hikes. The park's tourist trail network ranges from 400 to 2,642 meters in elevation; the trails are marked and equipped.
The park offers hiking, horseback riding, cycling, and snowshoeing tours, as well as cultural and educational tours. The visitor routes from Adigeni include Zanavi Fortress.
