Egerszólát: Hotels and Accommodation

Egerszólát lies in the valley of the Szólát Stream. Numerous grape varieties grow on almost 400 hectares on the slopes of the Szóláti Hills.

Nature and Wine

Egerszóláti Olaszrizling is still considered the hallmark of the village. The Gál Lajos winery has a tasting room for 30 to 40 people.

The Aranytőke Borszemle takes place every two years as an international wine competition of international standing; on average, wine-growing regions from five countries take part.

Culture and History

At the end of the “Pincesor,” which branches off from Egri Road, stands the Andreánszky Manor House, built at the beginning of the 19th century.

The Brezovay Castle retains an original Baroque door and two rooms with distinctive barrel vaults. The Brezovay Castle was built in 1773 by Csenus Sándor.

The classicist Szórát Manor House stands on the main road; its year of construction is unknown.

The Roman Catholic Church of Saint John of Nepomuk, which still stands today, began to be built in 1734 at the behest of the widow of István Farkas.

Getting Around

The Eger–Kékes-tető–Eger cycling circuit passes through Egerszólát; the village is one of the settlements along the route.
