Some beach access points have been adapted for pushchairs and people with reduced mobility. This applies to individual access points, not automatically to the entire beach. The landscape extends beyond the coastline: the Gmina Kołobrzeg also includes peat bogs, pine forests, meadows, salt marshes and river valleys. More than 700 species of vascular plants have been recorded here, including many protected species. The flora of the raised bogs is also notable for nature enthusiasts: peat mosses and marsh vegetation grow in the bogs around Dźwirzyno and Grzybowo, where insectivorous plants are also found.

The beach and nature therefore offer different kinds of travel experiences. Those who enjoy walking by the sea will find a broad, sandy stretch of coastline at Dźwirzyno Beach. Those with a particular interest in wetlands and plants can make the raised bogs a focus of their visit.

There are three Nordic walking routes in Grzybowo and Dźwirzyno, each with a different level of difficulty. They run along the beaches and through the coastal forest. The different levels of difficulty can help you choose a route to suit you; no specific duration or length is given for the individual routes.

The Wokół Jeziora Resko route is 55 km long. Most of it runs through the Gmina Kołobrzeg and it also passes into the neighbouring Gmina Trzebiatów. Take the total distance into account when planning. The Gminne Centrum Sportu i Rekreacji in Dźwirzyno also offers bicycle hire for exploring the Gmina Kołobrzeg.

Lake Resko Przymorskie is suitable for water sports, including windsurfing and kitesurfing. The harbour at Dźwirzyno also offers maritime activities: what was once a fishing harbour has become a fishing and tourist harbour, suitable for coastal sailing, fishing trips and sea excursions in small boats. A modern bridge over the canal between the lake and the sea is considered a landmark of Dźwirzyno.

Budzistowo is home to a hunting palace built in the eclectic style around the turn of the 20th century. In Korzystno, the Neo-Gothic church dates from 1866. The historic ensemble includes a former churchyard cemetery laid out in the same year and surrounded by a distinctive brick wall. Another Neo-Gothic church, the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Karcino, dates from 1869.

Grzybowo also has a notable landmark: on the main road, a three-dimensional “GRZYBOWO” sign stands beside a fountain. It is a good place for a short break during a walk or bike ride. The Gmina is also home to horse farms and riding centres in Budzistowo, Zieleniewo, Korzystno, Grzybowo and Stary Borek.
