LinteÅŸti: Culture, Landscape and Cycling Route
LinteÅŸti combines a very early archaeological reference with churches, monasteries, prominent terrain features and the route of an MTB-XC cycling tour. Archaeological investigations found flint tools here that are typologically assigned to the Lower Paleolithic, meaning the period from 1,600,000 to 100,000 BC.
Culture and History
Biserica Cuvioasa Paraschiva is an Orthodox church in LinteÅŸti, in the Comuna Cotmeana in ArgeÈ™ County. Cotmeana Monastery is dated to the year 1292. The church and monastery stand as separate cultural attractions alongside one another.
The wider regional surroundings also include Vieroşi Monastery and the churches Biserica Dealu Viilor, Biserica Crucişoara and Biserica Sămara. Thus, within the cultural references, a monastery in the wider area around Linteşti, several churches and the Orthodox place of worship in the Comuna Cotmeana stand alongside one another. The names and building types mentioned make it possible to clearly distinguish the individual destinations.
Landscape
The terrain designations are also distributed across different landforms. Mount Dealul Robaia is located in the wider regional surroundings of Linteşti. The hills Dealul Purcăreni, Dealul Brădişor and Dealul Viilor are also located there. The individual mountain and the three named hills therefore form a separate landscape reference alongside the churches and monasteries.
For maps and daily notes, the religious buildings and terrain features can be recorded separately. The landscape terms remain just as unambiguous as the place names of the cultural sites. In this way, the mountain and hills are not confused with the names of the churches and monasteries.
Roads and Cycling Route
The communal road DC206 Linteşti–Vârloveni–Pielești begins at the DN7 in the village of Lintești and runs for 9.882 km to the intersection with the DJ704E in the village of Pielești. This road section describes a specific connection between Linteşti, Vârloveni and Pielești and is therefore distinct from the MTB-XC cycling tour.
On October 11, 2014, a 95.5 km MTB-XC cycling tour through Argeș County passed through Linteşti. On this MTB-XC cycling tour, the approach to Lintești runs via the E81/DN7; it then continues along a descending side road through the forest to the DJ703A. The information on road length and tour distance marks two routes of different scope. The 9.882 kilometers of the communal road and the 95.5 kilometers of the tour describe different scales: one a local road section, the other a tour route through the county.
For a stay in LinteÅŸti, you can consider travel dates, room category and cancellation policies separately when looking at hotels. These accommodation details stand alongside the cultural, landscape and route references already described and form a separate level for travel planning. In this way, the choice of accommodation remains separate from the classification of the place-related information and can be made independently of the cultural, landscape and route topics.
