PredeluÈ›: Mountains, Hiking Routes and Bran Castle

Predeluț lies at the foot of the Măgura-Branului Mountains and very close to the Bucegi and Piatra-Craiului Mountains. The village’s rural landscape is characterized by well-maintained farmsteads, gardens and orchards. Here, the mountain setting and the agricultural surroundings meet directly.

Nature and hiking routes

The Predeluț–Padina Lupului–Șaua Măgurii–Măgura hiking trail is 4 kilometers long and takes 2–3 hours. Another hiking trail, Tohănița–Măgura–Fântâna lui Botorog, begins at Bran Road, which connects Zărnești and Bran via Predeluț. The first route is therefore described by its length and duration, while the second focuses on its starting point at Bran Road.

Predeluț can be reached by car via DJ 112H, which connects Bran and Zărnești. The course of the road and the start of the Tohănița–Măgura–Fântâna lui Botorog trail at Bran Road are part of the different local and route references around Predeluț.

The information about the hiking trails combines specific names with different route characteristics. This keeps both the route via Padina Lupului, Șaua Măgurii and Măgura and the starting point at Bran Road independently identifiable. The mountain location and rural development provide the spatial setting for these route references.

Cycling and bicycle services

The Zărnești–Bran Castle cycling tour is easy and connects Zărnești with Bran. From Predeluț, it follows a fast descent to a park directly in front of Bran Castle. The tour therefore connects a starting point in the surrounding area with the destination at the castle. E-Bike Rent offers bicycle pickup and return at the Predeluț 221 location. The bicycle service is thus available at a specific address, while the tour itself links Zărnești, Predeluț and Bran.

Hiking and cycling coexist in PredeluÈ› with different route details and paths. These outdoor activities are complemented by a place of worship and traditional products from the Bran area.

Culture

The Biserica cu hram „Adormirea Maicii Domnului“ was built in Predeluț in the shape of a ship. The place of worship preserves Gothic-style elements and was painted by Toma Condrea. Its form, Gothic stylistic elements and decoration by Toma Condrea shape the traditional features attributed to this church.

Products from the Bran area

Traditional products from the Bran area include Brânza de Bran and sheep pastrama. Both names represent the regional product tradition, which forms another aspect of the surrounding area alongside the hiking trails, cycling tour and church.

The cultural and regional references have different spatial connections: the church is located in Predeluț, while Brânza de Bran and sheep pastrama are associated with the Bran area. Thus, alongside the local architectural and landscape features, there is also a broader regional context.

Other places

Other places in the same destination area are Viștișoara, Șercaia, Săcele, Holtesdorf, Predeal, Ghimbav, Făgăraş and Pârâul Rece.
