Săcele between Gorge, Mountains and Culture
Săcele combines nature, activity and culture with specific places, measurements and names.
Nature and Trails
The Canionul 7 Scări gorge is a gorge cut into Jurassic limestone, measuring 160 m in length with an elevation difference of 58 m. It is crossed by the 7 Scări stream and consists of seven metal ladders between 2.5 and 15 m high, which turn into waterfalls.
The Peștera de Gheață ice cave is one of the important tourist destinations in the Piatra-Mare Massif. The main access to the Canionul 7 Scări gorge is from Dâmbul Morii via the DN1 national road, following the yellow trail marking.
The natural sites therefore differ not only in their names, but also in their forms and scales. The gorge combines rock, stream, ladders and waterfalls in a single landscape, while the ice cave forms a separate destination within the massif.
Mountains and Activities
The Piatra-Mare Massif reaches a maximum elevation of 1,844 m at Piatra Mare Peak. Bunloc/Bolnoc Mountain has a maximum elevation of 1,185 m.
A mountain trail from Săcele leads over Bunloc Mountain to Piatra Mare Mountain Hut and Piatra Mare Peak. Bunloc Mountain is one of the areas particularly sought out and valued by paragliders. Another form of activity is the “7 Scări” zip line, which is over 3.5 km long.
The figures for length, elevation difference and ladder height are suitable for a straightforward comparison of landforms; the length of the zip line uses a different scale. For the mountains, elevation figures stand alongside a specifically described trail connection. These differences make it possible to consider nature and activity topics separately.
Elevation figures, trail connections and types of activity can therefore be considered as different characteristics.
The mountain topics can thus be classified by elevation, trail connection and type of activity. The marked access route to the gorge has a different spatial reference from the trail from Săcele via Bunloc. Together, the information presents a picture made up of individual natural and activity areas, without combining them into a single itinerary.
When staying in Săcele, travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions can form the basis for comparing a hotel offer.

Culture
Casa Belloiu in the Cernatu district of Săcele, at 31 Str. Narciselor, Brașov County, is classified as a Category B historic monument.
Sântilia is closely connected with the life and work of the Mocani from Săcele, who travelled long distances with their flocks of sheep.
Casa Belloiu and Sântilia represent different cultural emphases: the historic monument focuses on a specific location in the Cernatu district, while Sântilia is connected with the life and work of the Mocani. Thus, local history and a traditional way of life appear as separate references within Săcele.
