Among the preserved folk architecture buildings in Dačov Lom is the house of Pavol Šajban, dating from 1812. The chamber in the Hlivárovcov-Fodorovských courtyard, dating from 1819, is considered the most interesting preserved folk architecture building in Dačov Lom.

For many years, Dačov Lom has had a folk group led by Štefánia Selská. It represents the municipality at cultural events in the surrounding area and farther afield. Local traditions include making traditional Hont lace and folk costumes.

Traditional crafts in Dačov Lom also include making wicker goods from willow branches, wooden tools and furniture, as well as horn items.

History

The Protestant church in Dačov Lom was originally built in the mid-13th century in the Romanesque style. Its nave received a painted wooden ceiling in 1713. A fragment of its Romanesque stone portal with round shafts was incorporated into and completed as part of the surrounding wall.

In the Central Register of the Monument Fund of the Slovak Republic, the Protestant church is listed under number 610-1088/0.

Nature

In the canyon on the slope of the western forest edge east of Strážnik, in the cadastral area of Dačov Lom, a ravine begins that leads to the western bank of the Lahoš. The lower of the two springs that rise there is known locally as Meričkovka.

Local Life

Dačov Lom has a post office, a shop and a cultural centre. Downhill skiing and two ski lifts are listed for Dačov Lom. A rural tradition of cattle and sheep farming as well as cheese production is also documented for the village.
