Vysoká Nad Kysucou: Bible Garden, Hiking Trail and Places of Remembrance

The E. A. Cernan Memorial Room is located in the building of the municipal office of Vysoká Nad Kysucou. The Eugene Andrew Cernan Memorial Room contains a thin segment of the burned heat shield from Apollo 10 dating from 1969, as well as a piece of the outer skin of Apollo 17. The STOPA monument represents a lunar dome bearing imprints of spacesuit bootprints.

Hiking

The Okruh Vysokou nad Kysucou circular trail starts at the municipal office in Vysoká Nad Kysucou. From there, it leads through the settlement of Vrchrieka along a red-marked hiking trail over the Javorníky ridge towards Semeteš.

History

Above the municipality are preserved remains of a Jewish cemetery. This cemetery is one of the last places of remembrance of the once numerous Jewish community in Kysuce. The preserved remains are located in Nižný Kelčov above the railway station.
