Bela-Dulice: Hotels, Culture and Hiking to Lysec
Bela-Dulice is situated in the mountainous surroundings of Veľká Fatra, in the northeastern part of the Turiec Basin. Landscape and Nature
The surroundings of Bela-Dulice include several named, mapped mountains. Lučenec, Tlstá, Preložnica and Prieraztin are all located near Bela-Dulice and are mapped as mountains. Lysec is a national nature reserve. The wider region also contains the named, mapped ruins of Zniev, Starý Hrad and Likava.
Culture and History
A historic bell tower on Rajčuli in Dulice dates from 1861. Dulický Hrádok is a national cultural monument and an archaeological site from the early historical period. Hradište is also a national cultural monument from the early historical period; its trapezoidal layout dates from the La Tène period.
Sacral architecture includes the Roman Catholic Church of Najsvätejšieho tela Kristovho in Belá-Dulice. It is an Early Gothic church from the last third of the 13th century and was renovated in 1749 and 1856. The folklore ensemble Lysec also preserves a connection to local culture: its repertoire includes the dances “Čardáše z Belej” and “Horňje lúky” from Belá-Dulice.
The Turčianske divadelné dni is an annual regional competition and, at the same time, a showcase of non-professional adult theatre, Belopotockého Mikuláš, and youth theatre, FEDIM. The municipality of Belá-Dulice is a co-organizer; the event takes place at the cultural centre in Belá-Dulice.
Trails and Activities
An educational trail between the municipality of Belá-Dulice and the Jasenská dolina–Kašová recreation centre has been accessible since 2009. It is suitable for recreational and sporting activities such as Nordic walking. A moderately difficult hike leads from Belianska dolina and Jasenská dolina to Lysec at an elevation of 1,381 m.
For cycling, there is a marked blue cycling route from Belá-Dulice to Jasenská dolina; it is 8 km long. Jasenská dolina is a year-round recreation centre. It has three groomed cross-country ski trails with a total length of 7 km.
