Srňacie – Hotels, Folk Architecture and History

Srňacie combines preserved elements of 19th-century folk architecture with an open wooden bell-tower structure housing a single bell. Based on its overall appearance and construction details, the wooden bell tower can be dated to the second half of the 19th century.

Culture

Several log houses in Srňacie are currently privately owned. Traditional architectural features of Srňacie include original granaries. Reconstruction of the access road to the Srňacie district improved access for motorists and cyclists. The section of Route B through Pustá poľana offers beautiful views of Choč and then continues through Srňacie. On the return journey to Dolný Kubín, the official Route B passes through Srňacie. The approximate time indication identifies the walk as a clearly defined section of the route; the references to Route B, by contrast, describe a longer route with both outbound and return connections.
