Bukovina: Nature, Culture and Hotels in the Liptov Basin

Bukovina is located in the centre of the Liptov Basin below the Chočské vrchy, in the valley of the Sestrč stream. The village combines a distinctive landscape with trails, historical traces and destinations in the nearby and wider surrounding region. Culture and History

In the northern part of Bukovina, on the road between the Liptov and Orava regions, there is a renovated manor house. Podhradie developed as a settlement in the outer bailey of Liptovský Starý hrad and was incorporated into Bukovina in the 14th century. The “Sedliacka usadlosť Bukovina” exhibition is located at Bukovina 17 and has been used for educational purposes since 2015.

The remains of a Komorovský manor house have also been preserved. In the 18th century, the inhabitants of Dušany engaged in pottery. The ruins of Likava are located in the vicinity of Bukovina, while Orava Castle lies in the wider surrounding region. The “Besenova Thermal Park” is located near Bukovina.
