In Ludrová, the municipality continues the lower Liptov paper production tradition through the Museum of Handmade Paper Production: it established and operates the museum.

Culture

At the museum, you can interactively try out the entire process of handmade paper production. It is housed in a wooden building; the Medokýš mineral spring is located nearby.

The church in Kút belongs to the Liptov Museum and is open to the public. The church on Stráňa Hill can be reached via a covered staircase.

The remains of a significant hillfort are located on Pancová Hill near Ludrová; its origins date back to the Bronze Age.

The cultural highlights offer three different ways of experiencing Ludrová: handicraft, sacred sites and archaeological traces. When planning your day, you can consider these themes independently of one another.

Nature and Trails

The Salatín circular hike includes crossing the Hučiaky Gorge and climbing a solitary mountain with beautiful views. The trail through the Hučiaky Gorge leads from Ludrová into the Salatín National Nature Reserve and onward to Mount Salatín.

The “Do tiesňavy Hučiaky” route starts and ends at the “Ludrová,,otočka” bus stop. For day planning, the circular hike, gorge crossing, ascent and cycling connection can be compared as different types of routes.

The trails described represent different ways of getting around. When planning your day, you can consider the route types separately without combining them into a single route description.

The Medokýš mineral spring lies on the outskirts of Ludrová, 50 metres from the built-up area, in the Močilá locality. An asphalt road leads to the spring and continues to the Museum of Handmade Paper Production.

Travertine formations are located on Čerená Hill. The Ludrovianka stream features numerous beautiful meanders.

The nature highlights combine local points of interest with terrain and waterway features. When planning your own day, you can classify this information separately according to its respective landscape context.

Events

The “Beh Ludrovskou dolinou” race was held for the third time in 2026. Its starting point is at the OŠK Ludrová football stadium.

The traditional Ludrovská Bursa 2026 takes place at the cultural centre in Ludrová and includes singing and dancing.

The two formats can be considered separately.

Cycling Route

No marked cycling route passes through Ludrová itself. However, a blue-marked cycling route runs by the All Saints’ church in Kút: it comes from Ružomberok and continues eastwards via Liptovská Štiavnica and Liptovské Sliače towards Partizánska Ľupča.

When cycling, the local connection and the onward route are two different pieces of information presented side by side. This can help when planning to read the route independently of its passage through the locality.

For a hotel in Ludrová, travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions can be listed as different details alongside one another. Which aspect matters more depends on your own dates and preferred way of travelling.
