History

The secular architectural history also contains several historical layers. The manor house of Vyškovce Nad Ipľom was originally a late-Renaissance building erected at the end of the 17th century. Today, it houses the municipal office and registry office. An older historical trace is associated with Vyškovce Nad Ipľom Castle: it may have been built between 1303 and 1312.

The present-day Mahér is also part of the local tradition. According to local history, the VIII Army from Pannonia was stationed at its summit; excavations carried out there are cited as confirmation of this. Water is therefore relevant both to the local infrastructure and to the development of tourism offerings on the river.

The Water Days for Families in Vyškovce Nad Ipľom are an annual tradition. During these Water Days, interested participants were able to take part in a cooking competition on 5 and 25 August 2023.
