Culture

The Roman Catholic Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Spišská Teplica was built in 1875 on the site of a Gothic church dating from the 14th century. A historic stone tabernacle has also been preserved to this day in the church in Spišská Teplica.

The Spišská Teplica Municipal Museum has a permanent exhibition on the history of Spišská Teplica and its Cistercian heritage. It is open year-round to registered visitors. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum provides space for creative workshops, lectures, exhibitions, discussion groups and seminars.

The Calvary in the Cistercian style has 14 stations, including a chapel. Above the Calvary, there are views of Spišská Teplica, the surrounding area and the peaks of the High Tatras. The site is accessible to pedestrians, cyclists and visitors arriving by car.

Nature

The Spišskoteplické slatiny area is part of the Natura 2000 network, covers approximately 24 hectares and is located in three different places within Spišská Teplica. The designated area is subject to the fourth level of protection. Among the most important protected habitats of Spišskoteplické slatiny is a habitat of European importance with alkaline fens.

On the Way

A circular route also passes through Spišská Teplica. It runs from Poprad through the Lopušná valley via Spišská Teplica and Svit back to Poprad. Along the way, the circular route crosses Spišská Teplica as far as the agricultural cooperative; the ascent begins after that.
