Hozelec is the place within whose cadastral territory most of Hozelské slaniská is located. Hozelské slaniská is the current name of the site of European importance SKUEV0139; it was previously called Gánovské slaniská. The area contains mineral water springs with more recent travertine deposit formation.

Culture

The cultural history of the place is reflected in sacred and secular architectural monuments. A single-nave Gothic church dedicated to Saint Martin the Bishop was probably built in Hozelec around the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. Architectural fragments of the no longer preserved Gothic church are displayed in the center of Hozelec near the bell tower. The late Gothic high altar of the Suffering Christ for the Church of Saint Martin the Bishop was made between 1516 and 1520 in the workshop of Master Paul of Levoča.

The Classicist manor house is also one of these historical testimonies. It was built in the final decades of the 18th century at the initiative of the Okolicsányi family. The 18th-century manor house is currently considered the most valuable architectural monument in the municipality of Hozelec. In addition, the manor house is registered as the national cultural monument NKP Kúria under identification number ÚZPF 876/1.
