The Hornádska Cyklomagistrála 034 runs through Spišský Štiavnik along the Hornád Valley on the edge of Slovak Paradise. The route is approximately 33 kilometres long. The mountains of Krížova, Tri Kopce, Orlov and Roveň are also located in the surroundings of Spišský Štiavnik.

Culture

The local Cistercian Abbey of the Virgin Mary was founded between 1216 and 1223 by the brother of the Hungarian King Béla IV. The Renaissance manor house dates from the 16th to the 17th century and was built on the site of a medieval monastery. The manor house was extended according to a design by D. Jurkovič. The building has two storeys, a square floor plan and corner towers. The manor house complex includes farm buildings and a chapel constructed from reused stones and Early Gothic architectural details from the monastery.

In the centre of Spišský Štiavnik, the Gothic Roman Catholic church stands on the Hornád in a spacious walled courtyard. It dates from the end of the 14th century and was remodelled in the Baroque style in the 18th century. The main altar is dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary.
