Culture
The Roman Catholic Church of Saints Andrej-Svorad and Benedict was built between 1804 and 1816 on the site of a wooden church destroyed by fire. The Church of Svätý Vendelín and the Church of Púšť are also located in the vicinity of Nitrianske Rudno.
The DĽH spod Rokoša performs songs from Upper Nitra and focuses particularly on the Rudnianska Valley. The Rokôška folklore ensemble has maintained its folklore work since 1986 and regularly performs at folklore events in the region and beyond. Folk customs, traditions and traditional crafts are preserved in Nitrianske Rudno through various events.
History
Horný kaštieľ, also known as Javorčekeje dom, is considered the oldest house in Nitrianske Rudno. The locality is associated with a mining tradition. Fraňa Madva studied botany and collected and researched medicinal plants; he was widely sought after as a folk healer.
The traditional Fraňa-Madva March took place for the 29th time in 2026 and led to Madvova studnička. The 2026 edition of the traditional Fraňa-Madva March led from the area of Madvova studnička to Nitrianske Sučany and was 11.7 kilometres long. Motocross races for the mayor's cup were held in the Kaňová area in 2024 and 2026.
