Šajdíkove Humence: Golf, Nature and Hotels

Šajdíkove Humence combines golf, trails, landscapes and historical evidence. The Penati Golf Resort is particularly noteworthy: the Heritage Course is the resort’s second 18-hole golf course and was officially opened in August 2013. The Legend Course is an 18-hole golf course built according to plans by Nicklaus Design. It meets USGA standards at world-class PGA level. Its 15th hole is 712 metres long, is described as the longest hole in Central Europe and offers 11 tee boxes.

Nature and Trails

Šajdíkove Humence lies in the Myjava catchment area. The local landscape includes wetlands, sand dunes and pine forests. The Záhorácka magistrála, Route 0772, runs for 5.5 km through Šajdíkove Humence.

The Senica–Šaštín cycling route also passes through the municipality. It follows the Myjava through Šaštín-Stráže, Borský Mikuláš, Štefanov and Šajdíkove Humence. Its two sections are connected in the cadastral area of Šajdíkove Humence on Road III/1156.

Culture

Several different examples from architecture, folk culture and the ecclesiastical sphere stand side by side as evidence of the locality’s history. The historical and cultural sights of Šajdíkove Humence include a wooden cross depicting the crucified Jesus, dating from 1951. The Church of St Augustine is a 20th-century architectural work; it was built in the 1940s and consecrated in 1951. Šajdíkove Humence also has a bell tower with a wooden roof, which is considered one of the historically and culturally valuable objects.

Another example is House No. 169 in the U Michálkov settlement. It is one of the best-preserved examples of the traditional folk architecture of Šajdíkove Humence. The cultural annual cycle includes summer and autumn church fairs, celebrated in connection with the anniversary of the church consecration on 12 June.
