The medicinal mineral water of Smrdáky contains 3,400 mg of mineral salts and 680 mg of hydrogen sulfide per liter. The hydrogen sulfide mineral water is used for therapeutic baths. In addition, sulfur-containing peloids from Smrdáky are applied as compresses to the joints and spine. Smrdáky Spa specializes in treating noninfectious skin diseases and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Phototherapy is part of the treatment for the skin diseases listed in the indications directory at Smrdáky Spa.

Wellness

The spa park is also part of this focus. It covers 16 hectares and was created by draining swamps. In addition to the spa treatments, Smrdáky therefore has a large-scale area whose development is closely connected with the history of the town.

Culture

The Roman Catholic Church of Saint Martin of Tours in Smrdáky dates from 1680 and was extensively renovated in 1928. The church contains a rare organ built by Martin Šaško in 1862. The surviving Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk, north of and above Smrdáky, was built in 1831 in a newly established cemetery. It has a Baroque wooden altar structure from the first half of the 18th century.

Further sacred monuments stand directly in the town: the Trinity sculpture in Smrdáky was created in 1927, while the ensemble of Saint Florian, Saint Vendelin and Saint Rosalia stands in Smrdáky's village square. The history of the spa also includes Baron Joseph Vietoris, who founded Smrdáky Spa in 1832–1833. The manor house of Smrdáky Spa, reconstructed and modernized several times, is still in use.

Getting Around

A marked cycling route runs through Smrdáky. Public bus services operate along road III/05112, where Smrdáky has a bus stop. This provides both a signposted route and a specifically identified public transport connection within the town for further exploration of the area.

Also pay attention to included services, price components, and booking and cancellation conditions. Especially when comparing prices carefully, it is crucial to know which services are already included in the total price and which costs are listed separately. This makes it possible to compare the individual offers directly on the basis of the conditions stated there. Also compare which services are included in the price, whether any additional price components are mentioned, and which conditions apply to changes or cancellations. Different room or occupancy details can also change the total price. In addition, check whether the town name and the selected type of accommodation are clearly stated and for which occupancy the price applies. When booking for several people, look out for possible differences between the total price and the price per night or per person. If services appear only as optional, it should be clearly apparent whether they are included in the price or charged separately. Also check whether the final price and any additional costs are clearly shown separately.
