Nature
The Radensko polje Landscape Park lies in the southeast of the Municipality of Grosuplje. It is a karst polje covering slightly more than 4 km², with meadows, shrubs, forests and ponds that carry water seasonally. The 4 km educational trail “Od Šice do mejice” offers insights into the nature and wildlife of Radensko polje.
At Županova Cave, visitors can explore seven underground chambers adorned with stalactites and stalagmites along 600 m of developed cave paths in a 700 m long cave. The cave has seasonal ice formations and provides a habitat for cave-adapted animals, including several bat species. Visits are possible only with a guide; the cave is accessible in all seasons.
Vodomčev gaj comprises renaturalized wetlands, hedgerows and a traditional orchard with high-trunk trees, established to preserve ecologically important habitats for numerous animal species. The area serves as an open-air classroom with organized nature programs and activities that raise awareness of nature conservation and biodiversity. On a guided circular trail through Vodomčev gaj, visitors learn about the local animal and plant life; access is also possible for people with reduced mobility.

History and Culture
Tabor above Cerovo is one of Slovenia’s best-preserved anti-Ottoman defensive camps and provides insight into the defensive architecture of the time. The fortification wall includes three defensive towers. The Church of Saint Nicholas near Tabor above Cerovo has a Romanesque design, suggesting that it was built in the 13th century.
Magdalenska gora was continuously inhabited from the Early Iron Age through the Celtic invasion and the Roman occupation. There are 28 clearly visible burial mounds there. Finds include bronze situlae, weapons and other military equipment, various fibulae, and jewelry.
The “Čez klance na žgance” tour is a guided walking tour through Grosuplje focusing on the local heritage of carting. The “Po sledeh Louisa Adamiča” tour is a literary and cultural guided tour that ends with a visit to the displayed furniture from his birthplace and personal items from his life.
A museum locomotive near Grosuplje railway station was built in Budapest in 1907. Žabja House is considered Slovenia’s first nature conservation center. Koželj Beekeeping in Šmarje–Sap is a beekeeping museum with beekeeping literature from 1700 to the present day, honeycomb paintings, beehives, honey extractors and beekeeping equipment.
Trails
The Grosuplje Mountain Trail is approximately 80 km long and can be divided into sections. Since 2015, it has been marked for dual use and can also be used by mountain bikers.
Orientation
The Grosuplje Tourist Information Center is located in the center of Grosuplje on the ground floor of the Koščak building at Adamičeva cesta 15, next to the Grosuplje City Library. It offers brochures, publications and maps, as well as locally made handicraft products.
Geographical Setting
Limberk, a mountain, lies in the immediate vicinity of Grosuplje. Kucelj, Mokrec and Lomniki are mountains in the area surrounding Grosuplje. In the wider regional surroundings of Grosuplje are Ljubljana grad, a castle, the Emona House Archaeological Park, a museum, and the Prešeren monument, a memorial.
