Polzela: Cultural Monuments, Park and Paths along the Savinja
Komenda Castle stands on a hill in the center of Polzela. The building is an important cultural and historical monument. The Order of Malta owned Komenda Castle from the 13th to the 18th century.

The fully renovated Komenda Castle has rooms for tourist, cultural and social activities. The entire Komenda Castle complex is an official venue for wedding ceremonies. At the same time, Komenda Castle displays a collection of exhibits from the Sovereign Order of Malta.
Nature
Šenek Park and Manor Šenek are located at a lookout point on the northern edge of Polzela. Šenek Park is designated as a cultural monument. Šenek Park contains more than thirty tree species that are unusual for the local area. The Tourist Association of the Municipality of Polzela has established an educational trail there, where visitors can walk at any time of year. In 2022, 500 meters of illuminated walking paths were also installed in Šenek Park. Šenek Park has a children's playground.
History
In the municipality of Polzela, Mešičev mlin was one of the best-known mills in Polzela. The operation comprised a mill and a sawmill, and later also a generator for domestic lighting. The historic mill buildings of Mešičev mlin have been restored.
The Church of St. Margaret stands in the present-day center of Polzela and is first mentioned in 1255. In 1263, it became a commandery church; a relief of the Maltese cross in the presbytery points to this. In front of the church stands a black locust tree, the thickest black locust tree in Slovenia.
Also in the municipality of Polzela, Cajhnov kozolec presents a small ethnological collection of old farming tools and equipment. In the municipality of Polzela, the Museum of Old Tractors presents a collection of more than twenty restored vintage tractors.
