The Bohinjska tržnica in Bohinjska Bistrica takes place every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Local products, dairy products, honey and handicrafts are offered there. The fixed schedule and the variety of goods give the market a clear place in the town’s weekly routine.
Nature and routes
The eighth stage of the Juliana Trail runs from Bohinjska Bistrica to Podbrdo, passing over the historic Vrh Bače pass. In the Sava Bohinjka fishing area, only fly-fishing with all types of lines is permitted, but without additives that would alter their original properties.
The first section of the Sava Bohinjka fishing area extends from the outflow of the Jezernica River from Lake Bohinj to the road bridge below the Bohinjska Bistrica River and is managed by the Bohinj Fishing Club.
Winter
Kozji hrbet is the lower part of the former Kobla ski centre in Bohinjska Bistrica and is particularly suitable for families and beginners. Kobla is recommended when there is fresh snow or for training beginners in ski touring. The ski-touring slopes near Kobla are accessible by car.
Getting there and orientation
Cars, vans, articulated lorries, motorhomes and bicycles can be transported on the car train. When travelling by car from Ljubljana, the first TIC Bohinj is located in Bohinjska Bistrica at Mencingerjeva ulica 10.
