The Čebelarski muzej presents the Carniolan honey bee and Slovenian beekeeping. From May to October, the Čebelarski muzej has an observation hive with live bees, as well as interactive stations for all generations.

Culture and History

The Galerija Šivčeva hiša combines architecture, painting and illustration in one exhibition space. Šivčeva hiša is a bourgeois house dating from the second half of the 16th century and an important cultural monument of late Gothic architecture. The central bus station and the railway station are each approximately 500 metres from the Galerija Šivčeva hiša. Radovljica is well connected by public transport to Ljubljana, Kranj and Bled.

The Muzej talcev in Begunje is located in former cells of the Gestapo prison and displays the prisoners’ writings on the walls, as well as proclamations issued by the occupying forces. Graščina Katzenstein, with its prison facilities and park with cemetery, as well as Jožamurka and Brezjanka, are designated cultural monuments of national importance.

Crafts and Trails

The Kovaški muzej Kropa displays 94 nails in different sizes and shapes. For registered groups, Vigenjc Vice offers a guided tour with a demonstration of traditional nail forging. The market-centre area of Kropa has been a cultural monument of national importance since 1953.

The Krožna pot po Kroparskih znamenitostih is a walking trail through Kropa, a former centre of ironworking. The trail passes the main sights and offers views of the town.

Activities

The Green Gorumet Route long-distance cycling route runs through the Radol'ca destination, combining cycling with culinary experiences. From Radovljica and the surrounding towns, guides lead adventures of varying difficulty levels on the Sava Bohinjka, Sava Dolinka and Sava rivers. Tubing on the Sava covers a five-kilometre descent.

The Festival čokolade includes children’s workshops, as well as performances, concerts, culinary shows, exhibitions and appearances by street artists. In the immediate vicinity of the church on Petrova pot in Begunje, there is a viewpoint and a launch site for hang gliders.

Culinary Delights

The establishments participating in Okusi Radol'ce use locally produced ingredients to prepare dishes characteristic of the Radol'ca region. Every November, the participating Okusi Radol'ce inns present special dishes and culinary events.

Radolška čokolada offers guided chocolate tastings and workshops. The Lectarska delavnica organises workshops on making Lect hearts for larger and smaller groups.
