Robidnica: Hiking Trails and Cycling Route 8

On the Idrija-Cerkno Mountain Trail, a three-and-a-half-hour section leads from the Franja Partisan Hospital via Robidensko brdo to Črni vrh.

Hiking

The Idrija-Cerkno Mountain Trail is an easy-to-follow hiking trail suitable for everyone. At 824 meters, Robidensko brdo is a checkpoint on the Idrija-Cerkno Mountain Trail. One route variant of the traditional commemorative and recreational hike to Blegoš leads from Cerkno via Robidnica and the Slugova Valley to Blegoš. This variant takes about three hours on foot from the starting point to the summit; the trails are considered well marked and secured. Route 274 leads from Cerkno via Novaki and Robidnica to Blegoš. Cycling and winter sports

Cycling Route No. 8 is a circular route that runs through Cerkno, Dolenji Novaki, Robidnica, Počivalo and Črni vrh. In 2024, the cycling route via Robidnica was designated as Route 8. A gravel section leads for three kilometers with a gentle incline toward Robidensko brdo. At Robidensko brdo, Cycling Route No. 8 turns toward Cerkno Ski Center; two kilometers after Robidensko brdo, it reaches the lower station of the Počivalo chairlift. Nine electric mountain bikes of the MTB SCOTT Aspect eRide 40 type are available for rent in the Municipality of Cerkno. For planning purposes, the circular route, surface, incline and individual sections can be considered separately.

Cerkno Ski Center has 18 kilometers of groomed ski slopes. The ski school at Cerkno Ski Center teaches children and adults skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing. The number of slope kilometers and the types of instruction are listed separately to help plan a day of winter sports.

Culture and history

The Cerkno Museum has permanent exhibitions on the Cerkno region through the centuries and on the carnival tradition of the Laufarji from Cerkno. Visitors can also find information there about the Franja Partisan Hospital and the birthplace of France Bevk.

The Divje babe Archaeological Park is considered one of the world's most important Stone Age sites. Visits to the Divje babe Archaeological Park are possible exclusively with a guided tour and after registering at least three days before the planned visit.
