Culture and History

Loka Castle was first mentioned in 1215. The Loka Stage is a theater with more than a hundred years of tradition; several international and Slovenian plays are listed there for each year.

Romuald's Path is an interactive trail with 13 stations that begins and ends in the “Passion Room” at Mestni trg 42. The interactive tour on Romuald's Path lasts approximately 1.5 hours and includes a game, a competition, and 13 challenges.

The Three Castles Path begins at Loka Castle. Along the trail, visitors reach or are shown the ruins of the Tower on Krancelj and Wild Loka (Divja Loka) Castle.

The Godešič Meadows are considered a zoological and forestry natural heritage site. In Kevderc, the most famous cave in Loka, various wild animals can be observed; a short side passage at the cave entrance leads to Lubnik cave. The cave area is also known for archaeological finds, including Lubnik-type pottery and stone tools.
