Kuzun: Hotels and Accommodations

Kuzun combines marked mountain trails with impressive landscapes in the Gusarchay Valley. The route from Laza to Kuzun offers views of steep cliffs, waterfalls, and light forests. Those wishing to book a hotel in Kuzun can continue their accommodation search afterward.

Nature

In the Qusar district, there is a state reserve covering 15,000 hectares. The Alistan-baba beech forest near Urva covers 7 hectares in the Qusar district. Shahdag is associated with ski slopes, modern hotels, and recreation areas. In summer, Shahdag attracts visitors with mountain hikes, nature tours, and outdoor activities.

Hiking

The Kuzun–Yergi Kek hiking trail offers views of subalpine meadows, the steep cliffs of Mount Shahdag, and the plateau of Mount Gizilgaya. The signs are clearly visible along the entire trail. The trail reaches a viewpoint overlooking the steep cliffs of Mount Shahdag. No prior permission is required for the hiking trail; moreover, it leads neither through a specially protected natural area nor through a border security zone.

The Laza–Kuzun hiking trail is 6.5 kilometers long and takes approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes. It descends along the Gusarchay River toward Kuzun before reaching the main road into the settlement.

Culture

The local population of Kuzun and Yergi Kek belongs to the Lezgin ethnic group. Carpet weaving, artistic embroidery, and wood engraving are developed in the Qusar district. Flour-based dishes are locally preferred in the Qusar district. The Qusar district offers opportunities to taste national cuisine, watch folk dances, and learn about local traditions.

On Site

There is a guesthouse in Kuzun, but no cafés or restaurants. Local taxis can take visitors from the center of Gusar to Kuzun. There are no public springs in Kuzun.
