The Samorazvitie Community Cultural Center in Tankovo was founded in 1950. It has a children's folk dance group, and its library also includes a collection for all age groups.

Kalinata is a longos forest where old stands of ash, oak, and elm trees, as well as shrub vegetation, have been preserved. The area is home to 75 plant species, including 27 ornamental and 19 medicinal species. Five plant species in Kalinata are listed in Bulgaria's Red Data Book; the snowdrop Galanthus nivalis is cited as the most valuable species.

Tankovo is associated with winegrowing and vegetable cultivation. A grape brandy festival is held there in December. The Festival of Livelihoods and Traditions in Tankovo featured stalls with fruit, vegetables, honey, handicrafts, sweets, herbs, and spices.
