History
The Parenzana was a narrow-gauge railway that operated between Trieste and Poreč from 1902 to 1935. The section running through Farini is part of the Croatian segment, which has been developed as a gravel leisure trail for hiking or mountain biking. The 123-kilometre route connected 33 places from Trieste to Poreč.
Places
OPG Farina is located in the settlement of Farini and grows raspberries and blackberries organically. Advance telephone reservations are required for OPG Farina. Konoba Farini is located at Farini 1, 52463 Višnjan.
Trails
The Baredine Trail 112 leads from Baredine Cave via the Parenzana to Farini and back to the cave. The route is approximately 9 kilometres long and is described as easy to ride; it is mostly paved and has only minor inclines.
The Family E-Bike Tour from/to Labinci includes Višnjan, Baredine and Parenzana Farini in its itinerary. The itinerary covers 25 kilometres with approximately 300 metres of elevation gain and follows a five-kilometre section of the Parenzana railway line.
In the regional context, the Zvjezdana Staza cycling route starts in Višnjan and leads via forest paths, vineyards and surrounding villages towards Tičan. The marked Sovina Staza hiking route is 7.7 kilometres long, running from Višnjan via Deklevi and Kočići to Tičan and back.
