Culture
Next to the D100 state road in Belej, a damaged 185-metre-long dry-stone wall was restored in 2015 through the KAMENI MOST project. In the parish church in Belej, the wooden Baroque statues of St. George and St. Rocco are part of the older artistic inventory. St. George is celebrated in Belej on 23 April, and St. Rocco on 16 August.
Nature
The maritime part of Zela Port in the Belej planning area lies within HR3000161 Cres-Lošinj; this area has been identified as a dolphin reserve.
Geographical Setting
Luka Zela–Koromačno was built on an existing breakwater for communal berths. The island of Cres is located near Belej. Otočić Visoki, Otočić Mali Čutin and Hlm are located in the vicinity of Belej. In the wider regional surroundings of Belej are KZ Rab and Losinj Port.
Routes
A challenging 61-kilometre cycling route runs as an asphalt-and-gravel loop from Cres via Orlec, Belej and Plat, returning to Cres.
