ÄŒilec: Hotels and Accommodation

Čilec is a small village in the Polabí region, about 6 km from Nymburk towards Milovice.

Culture and History

The Soukromé Čilecké Muzeum displays electrical consumer appliances and household equipment from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is located in three rooms of the historic House No. 38 in Čilec and is open several times a year on special occasions.

Artefacts from the prehistoric settlement of ÄŒilec were brought to the National Museum in Prague in 1931. The former fortress of ÄŒilec has not survived. In 1923, the Tyl amateur theatre ensemble was associated with ÄŒilec in the Nymburk District.

ÄŒilec has a private shop selling food and miscellaneous goods, open daily.

Activities

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary on the village square in ÄŒilec was built in 1903 and is the dominant landmark there. The area around ÄŒilec offers opportunities for hiking. The monument to Ladislav Somr is signposted along cycle route No. 8149. ÄŒilec has a nohejbal court.
