Bříství is a historic medieval village whose original buildings are arranged along the main traffic routes. The village square is home to the Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, dating from 1702.

Culture

On the north side of the village square stands the Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross, which is of medieval origin. Surrounding the church are a cemetery that is still in use, with a mortuary, and a historic enclosure. The Chapel of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is also part of the local history: the Baroque central ruin dates from 1714 and burned down in 1818.

Nature

Břístevská hůra is considered an important viewpoint. Old fruit trees and thermophilous steppe plant communities have been preserved on its western and southern slopes. Břístevská hůra is also part of a site of Community importance.

The landscape features of the Polabské hůry include semi-natural dry grasslands and shrub complexes on calcareous substrates, as well as extensively mown meadows in the lowlands up to the foothills.
