Straky: Hotels and Accommodation

Straky extends along both banks of the Doubravka stream. The first written mention of the village dates back to 1323; in the 14th century, Straky belonged to the Benátecké estate.

History and Culture

A historical landmark of the village is the chapel in Straky. It was originally dedicated to Saint John the Baptist and was extensively renovated from 1868 to 1874. During this renovation, the roof and the tower spire were completely renewed. In 1905, a painting of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was acquired, and the chapel was rededicated to the Virgin Mary.

Activities and Events

A new cycle path is now in operation in Straky. Another special feature is the Zahradní dvůr Listen show garden, which illustrates the harmonious interaction between people and the forces of nature. Garden festivals are held there in connection with the four seasons, each taking place at the astronomical beginning of spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Several hills are located in the vicinity of Straky: Na Čilečku Hill (Straky), Kateřina Hill (Milovice nad Labem), Vrchy Hill (Krchleby u Nymburka) and Na Kopci Hill (Všechlapy u Nymburka).
