Hořátev: Hotels and Accommodations

Hořátev combines a remarkably well-preserved Tolerance prayer house with paths through the local landscape. Apart from minor alterations, the prayer house has been preserved in its original form. It also features an original painted ceiling that is considered unique among Tolerance prayer houses.

Culture and History

A Reformed congregation was established in Hořátev in 1783 following the proclamation of the Patent of Toleration. The local history also includes Bedřich Krátkoruký: As a participant in the battles over France and Great Britain, he achieved five aerial victories and died over the English Channel on January 15, 1943.

In the wider region surrounding Hořátev lies Kačina Chateau, a castle.

Paths and Landscape

The educational trail “Po památných stromech obce Hořátev” runs through Hořátev and ends there at a paved road at the rear of the Hliňovka pond. From the Hořátev railway stop, the educational trail is also connected to a footpath of the Klub českých turistů in the direction of Kersko.

The hills of Okrouhlík [Kovanice-Chvalovice] and Písková Lhota [Písková Lhota u Poděbrad] are located in the immediate vicinity of Hořátev. Horky is a mountain in the vicinity of Hořátev, while Hořánck is a mountain in the wider region.
