Bdín: Hotels and Accommodation
Bdín is located in the Džbán Nature Park and features a rare, exceptionally well-preserved historic settlement structure that has been virtually unaffected by modern development.
History and Villagescape
The village of Bdín is first mentioned in writing in 1318, when Jan ze Bdína (Jan de Ptyna) is named. The village square features a small bell tower and a bust of Jan Amos Comenius created in 1913 by the sculptor F. Čech.
Landscape and Water
The harmoniously structured, hilly landscape around Bdín has a high proportion of forest. The Bakovský potok stream flows through Bdín.
Routes
The 40 km-long Route No. 11 – Kozojedy runs from Srbeč via Bdín to Kroučová. At the entrance to Bdín, it turns onto a narrow road that soon climbs uphill. After the ascent, the blue-marked hiking Route No. 11 – Kozojedy leads through a beech forest towards Kroučová and Třeboc.
Trees and Technology
In the vicinity of Bdín, on Vošková hill, there is a transmitter in the form of an artificial pine tree, which became the first device of its kind in the Czech Republic in the 1990s. A pedunculate oak about 400 years old, designated as a memorial tree, stands along the road to Srbeč. Along the road to Přerubenice stands an ash tree designated as a memorial tree; it is about 50 years old and has a trunk circumference of 2.3 m.
